Job Title: Plumbing Assistant

Job Summary:
The Plumbing Assistant supports licensed plumbers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures. The assistant will help with routine and complex tasks related to water distribution, waste systems, and related plumbing tasks, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist with Installations and Repairs: Aid plumbers with installing and repairing plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
2. Prepare and Maintain Tools and Equipment: Ensure all tools and materials needed for a job are available, organized, and in good working condition. Clean, store, and maintain tools after each use.
3. Perform Basic Plumbing Tasks: Handle basic plumbing duties like pipe cutting, measuring, and threading under supervision. Assist with locating and marking positions for pipe connections and fixtures.
4. Conduct Site Preparation and Clean-Up: Prepare work areas by covering floors, moving materials, and setting up tools. Clean up after each job, removing any debris and ensuring the site is left in good condition.
5. Assist with Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Work alongside plumbers in diagnosing issues, such as leaks or clogs, using appropriate equipment and methods.
6. Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
7. Customer Interaction: Professionally interact with clients, address basic questions, and communicate any specific instructions from the plumber.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in construction or plumbing is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, stand, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from licensed plumbers.
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in plumbing (preferred).
